Summary

Facilitate the addition of oil and gas reserves and the preservation of existing leasehold interest in assigned geographical area. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate initiative when making decisions and problem-solving. Must be able to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion. Willingness to learn and apply knowledge in title law desired; demonstrated knowledge of title law in any state, preferred. Must have excellent communication skills on all levels within and outside of the organization, and the ability to negotiate win-win solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating oil and gas lease rights with mineral owners
  • Analyze and interpret lease purchase agreements
  • Evaluate acreage, develop lease offers and review titles to determine ownership
  • Analyze lease terms and determine drilling requirements
  • Curing title prior to drilling
  • Prepare and negotiate farm in/farm out, joint operating agreements, and other contractual agreements as necessary
  • Manages/maintains existing leasehold, rentals, and unit obligations
  • Represents the company as the primary point of contact with land owners and the State with regard to leasehold matters
  • Compare reported data for each oil and gas well (drilling records, unit size/location, and production) and ensure conformity with the requirements outlined within all affected leases.
  • Examine Title Opinions and Title made available by the Seller to verify ownership of individual assets, utilizing various county software & websites to update title as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:   

  • Preferred- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 2+ years as a Land Tech, Lease Analyst or Division Order Analyst with a basic understanding of oil & gas exploration terms and land and legal descriptions

 

Other Skills, Abilities or preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a basic understanding of land functions.
  • Candidates should have past experience with title and land due diligence.

  • Must have a working knowledge of HBP title and related issues encountered in the Permian and Delaware Basins, and should be able to accurately determine ownership of all estates.
