  • Summary

    As a Due Diligence Landman, the primary function is to review, analyze, and evaluate land contracts and title records to determine key provisions and verify

    interest in oil and gas properties. The role of the Due Diligence Landman shall include the accurate preparation of written reports based on the findings along with accompanying supporting documentation as defined by the client's needs and criteria specifications.


    • Perform review and analysis of oil and gas leases for key terms and provisions
    • Examine leasehold chain of title and verify leasehold ownership
    • Generate title forward search from certification date of title opinions to current
    • Interpret and assess title opinions and identify requirements of concern
    • Analyze Well production data from various sources to determine production history and identify significant gaps in production
    • Compute working interest, net revenue interest, and net mineral acres
    • Conduct County record searches for outstanding mortgages, liens, and civil actions to identify any liens, encumbrances, judgments and/or pending litigation
    • Optimal utilization of a combination of online resources, courthouse computer systems, and courthouse records to conduct research accurately and timely
    • Prepare and deliver superior reports comprised of accurate research data as directed by the detailed client needs and specifications



    • Bachelor Degree - highly preferred
    • AAPL Membership - preferred
    • 2+ years of related experience
    • Self-starter with demonstrable ability to work independently and within a team environment as required
    • Proficient with detailed reporting; accuracy, meet deadlines, summarized research results reporting that is thorough and comprehensible
    • Comfortable with operating in an environment with tight deadlines and strict standards.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook and Excel  
    • Create and generate spreadsheets including multiple worksheets at an intermediate level
    • Strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
