  • Summary

    The Sr. Title Examiner researches and analyzes public records in order to produce accurate, detailed reports summarizing land and mineral right ownership. They are responsible for preparing accurate, detailed reports summarizing research results based on client needs and criteria. The Sr. Title Examiner also assists in reviewing reports compiled by other title agents and prepares them for submittal to clients.

    Responsibilities

        • Perform title examination and analysis requiring a high level of title expertise
        • Examine deeds, liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to determine surface, mineral, and leasehold ownership
        • Interpret complex legal documents to verify leasehold interest ownership
        • Review, correct and update run sheets, deed plots, and flowcharts for abstracts and title opinions.
        • Verify detailed ownership reports and abstracts
        • Utilize a combination of online resources, courthouse computer systems, and courthouse records to conduct research in an accurately and timely
        • Request copies of documents when necessary.
        • Deliver accurate, quality research and reports based on client needs and criteria.
        • Work with title agents as directed by assigned project managers
        • Complete review of work product submitted by title agents

    Qualifications

        • 5+ years' experience as a title agent or title examiner
        • Must have experience producing accurate, detailed reports summarizing research establishing mineral right and leasehold ownership
        • Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate initiative when making decisions and problem-solving.
        • Must be able to operate in an environment with tight deadlines and strict standards.
        • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word and Excel and Greenbriar Graphics.
        • Able to create and use spreadsheets including multiple worksheets at an intermediate level
        • Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
        • Bachelor's degree preferred
        • AAPL membership preferred
