  • Summary

    The Leasing Agent is responsible for acquiring oil and gas leases through negotiations with mineral owners. In addition to lease

    negotiations and acquisitions, they perform lease checks, examine leasehold and title documents, and review leases to ensure

    compliance of the terms within such agreements

    Responsibilities

     

    • · Facilitate leasing activities through interaction with mineral owners
    • · Analyze deeds, title reports, and other relevant documents to verify mineral ownership
    • · Obtain contact information for mineral owners using a variety of online tools
    • · Negotiate the acquisition of oil and gas leases, as necessary to accommodate client operations
    • · Prepare, analyze, and interpret oil and gas leases
    • · Research area compensation for negotiations
    • · Perform lease checks on blocks of properties to identify open tracks and who is leasing in the area
    • · Coordinate with project managers for all leasing activity
    • · Work with Surface/ROW agents as necessary
    • · Coordinate communication between mineral owners and clients

    Qualifications

    • · Prior lease negotiation experience
    • · In depth familiarity with lease provisions and terms
    • · Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate appropriate initiative when making decisions and problem-solving
    • · Possess strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
    • · Exhibit the ability to prioritize and organize multiple simultaneous tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion
    • · Must be able to operate in an environment with tight deadlines and strict standards
    • · Proficient in Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • · Ability to travel as some projects may require daytime travel or overnight commitments
    • · Bachelor's degree preferred
    • · AAPL membership preferred
